This is an old box,  hand painted with Mother Of Pearl inlay.  the movement has been removed.  the mirror inside has a crack. and the hardware from the lock is removed

THIS IS A NICE AND “RARE” ITEM. IT IS A VERY OLD 7-UP CAN/MUSIC BOX. IT WAS MANUFACTURED BY KRAMER PRODUCTS OF ST. LOUIS, MO. IT DOES NOT HAVE A MANUFACTURE DATE ON IT, BUT SEEMS TO BE 1960′S OR 1970′S. IT PLAYS FINE AND PLAYS “LOVES THEME”. THIS RARE COLLECTIBLE WOULD BE GREAT ON ANY TABLE OR SHELF. IT WOULD ALSO GO GREAT IN ANY MUSIC BOX COLLECTION.

This music box has a gorgeous tone as
Symphonions are known for. The all original comb has a lovely sound and all ten
of the discs play great on it. The case is walnut with an unusual birds eye
maple panel in the middle on top with a nice Symphonion name transfer. The lid
print is beautiful and about perfect and the mechanism works well and long
playing. The case measures 13″ across the top. It is an excellent box to present

Antique Manievelle Style Hand Crank Child’s Music Box

 Antique manievelle style hand cranked music box decorated with scene of children playing with a dog.

Invented in France in 1857, by L’ Epee the hand crank musical boxes were made for children and were very popular toys during the Victorian Era.  They were often decorated with paper prints with scenes of children or landscapes.   Due to the fragility of the paper prints most boxes found today attest to the fact that they were used by children.  Often the sweet boxes show wear from hours of play by their young owners.

This is the first music box I have ever acquired; however, children and dogs always catch my attention.  The charming little wood music box has a milk glass knob on the crank. The crank works and I can pick up one of the tunes. Swiss or German, Circa 1900.  I am always open to more information about these charming music boxes.

Measurements; 6 ¼” X 4 ¼” X 3” high

Condition report; please note the wear to the litho or paper print. A few age cracks in the wood.

An Early Mahogany Mira Music Box in wonderful original condition. Fresh out of an estate, this beautiful case needed no cleaning and is being sold as we found it. I would say it is Circa 1895. It has a single comb and will play 12″ music discs. The mechanism was oiled to run smoothly. The comb teeth are there 100%. The lead weights are completely without oxidation and in very nice condition. This early machine has a top crank mechanism. The mahogany finish is nice, dark and still very glossy. The corner columns are all nice with a wonderful domed lid and little wood feet. This is a nice sounding box and we are giving a few music discs to get you started. Some are worn and discolored but do play. This music box has an unusual Zither attachment that works to change the sound to varying degrees.  Mira’s are know to be superior sounding machines and this one is a great one to start your collection with or add to your existing one!!! The case measures 17 ½” x 15″ x 9 ½”. It will be carefully shipped via Fedex ground or can be picked up locally. Don’t miss this opportunity to own this very fine piece!!
